Sgt. Pepper, Eleanor Rigby, Father Mackenzie, and The Henderson’s Celebrate “A Day in the Life” to Benefit POAC (Parents Of Autistic Children).

Wednesday, October 3, 2007 – Freehold, N.J. - ONCOR entertainment, Inc. CEO, Ross LaTerra, officially announced today that the ACT! Theater Company will be joining ONCOR in a One Night Only musical event to raise money for Parents Of Autistic Children (POAC), a New Jersey based nonprofit organization providing educational training services to the Autism community.  The event will take place on Saturday, November 10th, at the Pollak Theatre, located at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey and will consist of a reception at 6:30pm followed by an 8:00pm performance of “A Day in the Life”, an original musical based on songs by BEATLES, conceived and performed by the ACT Theater Company with book and musical arrangements by Irwin Hahn and Dan Davidson.

The pre-show reception will feature complimentary snacks and beverages, Gift Auction, POAC merchandise and educational materials.  Representatives of POAC will be in attendance for those who wish to learn more about the many free services and programs they provide to the autism community.  While many organizations exist to find a cause and cure for this developmental disability, POAC has focused its attention and resources on how best to help the children and families who are struggling with autism today.  POAC is a 501(C) 3 non profit Organization who strives to improve the lives of children and adults with autism by providing scientifically based training to parents, teachers and other direct service providers.  By far POAC is the nation’s education leader in the autism community.  For more information on POAC and their fine services please visit www.poac.net.

In a recent report released February 2007 the amount of children born with autism in the United States today is 1 in every 150.  The report suggests that New Jersey’s ratio is even more devastating with 1 in every 94 and 1 in every 60 boys, making the state the highest documented rate in the country.  This would easily suggest that everyone in Monmouth and OceanCounty would know at least one family affected by this developmental malady.  “We are so excited about this show with some of the most beautiful music ever written” said POAC President, Gary Weitzen.  “The ACT Theater Company is donating all of their time and 100% of the proceeds will go towards improving the lives of those affected by autism throughout the state.  MonmouthUniversity has a beautiful theater and is contributing greatly to make this a special event.  I have already seen a performance of “A Day in the Life” myself and thought it was awesome!  I know that this is an event that all family members will truly enjoy.”

“We are very excited to be working with ONCOR entertainment to raise money for such a worthy cause…” stated Irwin Hahn of the ACT! Theater Company. “It is staggering to learn the number of children born with autism each year…and how few resources are available to train the parents on proven methods of teaching and communicating with these children. POAC not only provides such intensive training to these parents, but they do it for FREE through the funds raised at evenings like this one, and we are just thrilled to be part of it.”  “A Day in the Life”, the latest collaboration of founding members Dan Davidson and Irwin Hahn, is one such trademark production of this inventive theatre group, whose musical numbers are rich and powerful, with strong harmonies and clever arrangements.

Formed in 2001, ONCOR entertainment’s primary operations include Event Production, Marketing and Promotion services as well as CD Production, Web Development, Graphic Design, Sales, Consulting and Public Relations services to the artistic community and the small business owner.  ONCOR entertainment CEO Ross LaTerra has been dedicated to raising funds and awareness for autism charities now for some time.  This event marks ONCOR’s third full scale Charity Performance for autism charities and its’ second one so far for POAC.  In an effort to educate a younger audience about the Organization and the affects of autism, and because of a growing number of charity events to benefit POAC, ONCOR entertainment is assisting POAC with the development of www.RockForADifference.org, a new website (still under construction) dedicated to providing details on Rock Concerts, Sporting events and reaching out to siblings of those with autism.

“Marsha McCarthy (Director of Conference & Program Services at MonmouthUniversity) has been extremely gracious in opening the doors of the beautiful Pollak Theatre to us for this extraordinary affair,” stated ONCOR CEO, Ross LaTerra. “POAC receives absolutely no State or Federal funding for the services they provide, so it is imperative for them to have opportunities like this to raise funds and share their mission with the community. We are proud to be able to provide our Event Production and Promotion services to POAC, and have been so inspired by POAC that we’ve launched www.RockForADifference.org. Still under development, this site is dedicated to providing updated information on a series of Concert, Music and Sports related events that will benefit POAC. We expect this site to grow into a primary resource for Parents Of Autistic Children.”

Tickets for the event are $25.00 and can be purchased by telephone at 732 792 3281 or on line at www.RockForADifference.org.  POAC and ONCOR entertainment, Inc. are currently seeking additional Sponsors and Donations for this and upcoming events. For unique Sponsorship opportunities, more information and to purchase tickets to this and other events, please contact ONCOR entertainment at 732-792-3281.
